Entheofest is a free, one-day gathering on the Diag in Ann Arbor for anyone curious about entheogenic plants: the people who study them, the communities who use them, and the policy that surrounds them.

Why we gather

Entheogenic plants have been part of human culture for a very long time, and part of public conversation in Michigan for a much shorter one. Entheofest exists to make that second conversation a better one: open, evidence-led, and grounded in the experience of the communities most affected by it.

The festival is free and open to everyone. You do not need to have any experience with these plants, or any intention of ever having one, to find something worth your time here. Plenty of people come because a friend or a family member has a story, and they want to understand it better.

What you'll find

A day of talks from researchers, advocates and practitioners, alongside the organisations doing this work in Michigan year-round. Between the talks, there are people to speak to, which for most visitors turns out to be the useful part.

Our history

From a vote to a courtroom

In 2020 Ann Arbor made arrests over these plants and fungi its lowest police priority. Five years later a judge had to order the university to let us back on the Diag.
